Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Coast
A chopper soaring over a popular southern California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers observed.
Videos uploaded on social media depict the helicopter beginning to twirl over the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters reported five persons were taken to hospital comprising two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were injured. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Officials mentioned the helicopter was connected to an annual “Cars and Copters” fundraising event planned for the following day.
